Winchester Law Sunday service
This annual service of celebration of all those who work in Law and Order in our county was held at 11am in Winchester Cathedral. A huge gathering of High Sheriffs from around the south including, the Isle of Wight, Dorset, Wiltshire, Surrey, West Sussex, Gloucester, Somerset, Berkshire and Bristol attended and are seen here with the High Court Judge Hon. Mrs Justice May and Hampshire Lord Lieutenant Nigel Atkinson and Mrs Atkinson and the Undersheriff Rachel Brooks.
The sermon was by Rt. Revd James Jones KBE, formally Bishop of Liverpool who talked of the importance of humility in life. Those assembled included many members of the Judiciary, Civic leaders, all Lawyers, the Police and Emergency services and a host of invited guests and local people. There service was led by the Dean of Winchester and a reception for all was held following the service in the Cathedral.
